Holidays and Illness

I am not certain of the exact statistics on this particular phenomenon, but in my household, it seems that every time there is a holiday, most of us end up ill.

Today, I am the one who is starting this lovely holiday trend.  Sore throat, achy body and a cranky mood.  What wonderful fun.   Anyway, we are persevering and I am sure we will all have some lovely fun tomorrow.

Summer was lovely this year.  We had loads of fun swimming in the local lakes and we discovered that Ayden is actually afraid of the water.  Imagine that, lol.   The garden did really well for the most part.  We ended up with about 36 pints of salsa from our tomatoes and onions.  I did have to purchase some of the peppers, since they didn't do so well.  We also got lots of green beans, broccoli, cabbage and Kale.  Yum.   The last thing I picked were the pumpkins.  I ended up with about 24 of them.  I am thinking we will be eating lots of pumpkin bread and pie this year.  :-)  No sorrow there.

Lest anyone wonder, Ayden put himself in the dog house and it is not latched.  However, it was very amusing at the time because he was pretending to be the dog and take a nap inside the kennel.
